Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This policy explains what information Rubriq collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect only what the service needs to work, and we do not sell personal information.

1. What we collect

When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and password (or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google). As you use the service we store your study selections (such as your chosen texts), your tutoring conversations, essay drafts you submit for feedback, and basic session information used to keep your account limited to one active IP address at a time.

If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, we only receive confirmation of your subscription status.

2. How we use your information

Your information is used to run the service: signing you in, remembering your study material and conversation history, generating tutoring responses, managing your trial or subscription, and responding if you contact us. We may also use aggregated, de-identified usage information to improve the service.

3. Who processes it

We use a small number of service providers to operate Rubriq:

Supabase stores your account and study data and handles authentication. Stripe processes payments. AI model providers receive the content of your tutoring conversations and submitted essays so responses and feedback can be generated. Google is involved only if you choose to connect Google Docs export, in which case we access only the documents needed to complete the export you request.

These providers process your data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside Australia.

4. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account data and conversation history while your account is active so you can pick up where you left off. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time, and we will remove it except where a record must be kept for legal or accounting reasons (for example, payment records).

5. Security

Your data is stored with providers that encrypt it in transit and at rest, and access to it is limited. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

7. Students and parents

Most of our users are secondary school students. We collect only what the service needs, we do not use student conversations for advertising, and a parent or guardian may contact us about their child's account and data at any time.

8. Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will let you know through the service or by email. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to hello@rubriq.au.
