Terms of Use

Rubriq is an online study support service for VCE English. It provides AI-assisted tutoring conversations, practice feedback, and study tools for the three sections of the VCE English exam. It is a private study aid, it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the VCAA or any school.

You must give accurate details when you sign up and keep your password secure. Your account is personal: it may be used by one person, from one active IP address at a time. Multiple devices on the same home or school network may be used, but signing in from a different IP address may end access on the previous network. Sharing an account, reselling access, or letting someone else sign in as you may result in the account being suspended.

If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the service, and a parent or guardian must handle any subscription payment.

Rubriq exists to help you learn, not to do assessed work for you. You remain responsible for everything you submit at school or in exams. Do not present tutor-generated writing as your own work in any SAC, assessment, or exam. Doing so may breach your school's and the VCAA's academic integrity rules.

Tutoring responses are generated by artificial intelligence. They are designed to be helpful and accurate, but they can contain mistakes, and feedback or predicted marks are guidance only, they are not official assessments. Always check important claims against your set texts, your teacher's advice, and official VCAA materials.

New accounts receive a free three-day trial with no card required at sign-up. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription billed weekly or monthly at the price shown at checkout. The first paid week or first paid month is 50% off where this introductory offer is available. Payments are processed by Stripe.

You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change, but we will tell you before a change affects an existing subscription.

Do not use the service to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, or abusive; attempt to break, overload, or probe the security of the service; scrape or bulk-extract content; or use the service to build a competing product. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

You keep ownership of the writing you submit (such as essay drafts). You give us permission to store and process it so the service can work, for example, sending it to our AI provider to generate feedback. The service itself, including its design, prompts, and study materials, belongs to Rubriq and may not be copied or reused without permission.

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. We may update these terms from time to time; if a change is significant, we will let you know through the service or by email before it takes effect.
